Artist & Creative Coach

I have always been a creative person and as a child, I always loved making things. Whenever I completed a project I was working on, I would experience a sense of joy and accomplishment with my creation, art was my form of meditation, my way of communicating with The Creator.

I have always been drawn to the visual arts, especially drawing and painting. I love color, design, and texture. I was greatly inspired by art history classes, that I took in college as electives, especially the study of the Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary art periods. I love abstract art because I see it as a message the artist is sharing with the outside world, as well as a hidden code for the world to interpret.

Like many people, my artistic endeavors were put on hold because I was told that there were no real careers in art. Art is just a hobby. I need to get a real job and make a living. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership.

So I conformed to the status quo, I had many types of jobs which included teaching high school mathematics for about 5+ years and working twenty years with the California Department of Education from where I retired.

My art training has mainly been through taking community art classes here and there. Then I participated in a program called 'Color of Woman' taught by Shiloh Sophia of Musea. This class transformed my art and life tremendously and gave me the courage to call myself an artist. I learned to create from a place of internal exploration. In my paintings, I set an intention which is written on the canvas, and various layers are incorporated as lead by the spirit in me to create whatever needs to come out. I also paint what I see in the external world. Through the 'Color of Woman' course, I became a Certified Intentional Creativity® Teacher which allows me to take my clients on a journey of self-exploration, bringing internal life issues to the external through drawing, painting, journaling, and even some movement.

My beliefs are art is healing, art is for everyone and everyone is creative in their unique way.
